20th Century
As the century turned perforated paper began to lose its popularity and
was largely relegated to the world of children’s projects and embroidery for the novice though many mottoes continued to be sold. At its height, perforated paper was available in quality card stock and perforated finely in counts as small as 22 to the inch which provided a luxurious finished product reflective of the time, money and effort spent by the embroiderer. Today, the surviving style of paper is the larger 14 count made in assorted colors including two foiled styles. |
